    Masashi Kishimoto: If I had to mention a difficult scene, it would be the parting scene between Sakura and Sasuke. The scene when Sasuke leaves the village of Konoha. Sakura, the heroine, stops him - and shouts “I love you” at him. It made it sound a bit like they were lovers, which felt rather embarrassing (laughs).  - Source

    Sensei’s comment after the recording of Sasuke and Sakura’s parting scene when Sasuke leaves the village was "This scene was very difficult for me”.
    He didn’t explain in detail why it was so difficult, though.
    「サクラの泣き顔は僕も同じ顔しながら描いた
    サスケに「行かないで」と言うシーンは女の子の気持ちを考えるのが難しくておっさん二人（自分と担当）で悩 みながら描いた。 」

    [Nakamura] : (About Sakura’s mature’s love) : At the beginning, Sakura just completely devoted herself to love, but when Sasuke left the village, she knew how to live for a true love.[Sugiyama] : ( About Sasuke’s sentence : You are so damn annoying) This sentence every time being said showed a change in Sasusaku’s relationship ,so the meaning of it is very deep.At first, because of his older brother’s betrayal, Sasuke disbelieved in human, but he started considering Sakura as his comrade gradually, the meaning of the word “annoying” also has been changed from there.But really till the end, his strong will to take revenge on his older brother always remained no.1 so there was no place to love someone.
    [Nakamura] : A Sakura used to devote herself to love only, but then she didn’t ask for a requitted love, eventually she has knowned  what is true love ( This part is about showing the change in Sakura’s love, reading chapter 693 for reference)[Sugiyama] : I think that…Sasuke himself showed his change obviously right after his last fight against Naruto ( After all the time, Sakura has always helped and forgiven Sasuke)..This was when Sasuke realized  that he not only had loved her romantically but also he felt a love more deeply than their bonds.His feelings is so consistant. And in my opinion, it linked to the sentence “I’ll see you soon” of Sasuke afterwards.

    Q: Were the characters’ romances also decided in advance?
    Kishi: I didn’t keep it in mind that much because I wanted to go with the flow (of the story). I drew (the story) while contemplating whether Sasuke and Sakura will end up together or what. I didn’t put Sakura in the heroine’s position anyways. Although Naruto is special as the protagonist, the others were equal and not categorized as main or minor. (The romances) were decided on how the characters will act as the story (proceeds). But halfway through I also thought that Naruto and Sakura were probably not that (not right). Somehow I did decide on (them/the romances) at a rather early stage.

    Basically, it says that at the premiere, Chie-san laughingly told Kishi that Sakura gave off the feeling of being broken-hearted when giving Naruto ’the last rites over the deceased’ in the movie (don’t ask me… even the article put a question mark after that part XD) - and that she wanted to know what had happened between her and Sasuke, not just between Naruto and Hinata. The article says that she was literally begging Kishi to write about it. To which Kishimoto apparently nodded and answered with ‘Certainly, people are interested in Sasuke’s side… I’ll be thinking about various things’. Then he said very earnestly that he wanted Sakura to be happy, since he’s only been making her experience painful things until now.

    When Sasuke leaves the village, Sakura implores Naruto to bring him back. Since he has feelings for Sakura, Naruto feels a sharp pain in his chest at those words. Still, he raises his thumb and makes a pledge on his ninja way. How much Sakura loves Sasuke, how much she is tortured by the fact that she wasn’t able to stop him… Naruto understands that pain deeply, more than anyone else, and that is why (he pledges to bring him back).

    When given the order to suppress Sasuke, who has become a missing nin, Sakura considers Naruto’s feelings and realizes that her request to bring back the old Sasuke is binding him. To untie Naruto from that curse, Sakura confesses to him. But Naruto knows that those aren’t her true feelings. And he also knows the pain that running counter to her own feelings is causing her.

    Sasuke: You… make me sick.
    TN: It’s just a different translation of Sasuke’s infamous ‘You’re annoying’.
    「里を抜けようとするサスケに、サクラは思い止まるよう懇願する。その願いに対するサスケの答えは、「うざ い よ」の一言。それはカカシ班が編成された頃にもサスケが放った言葉だった。だが、それから幾多 の任務を経た 今、同じ言葉に込められた意味は、大きく異なる。自分への愛情を知りつつも、全ての繋がりを断 ち切るべくサ スケは里に背を向けた。」
    Sasuke is trying to leave the village, and Sakura implores him to give up that idea. In response to her wish, Sasuke answers her with a simple “You’re annoying”. They are the same words that he uttered back when Team Kakashi was formed… but so many missions have passed since then, and now the meaning that he puts into those same words differs greatly. Even though he understands the love that she feels for him, in order to sever all his connections Sasuke turns his back to the village.
    サスケ：「やっぱり．．．お前 うざいよ。」
    Sasuke: As I thought… You’re annoying.
    SFX: スッ *slow movement*
    サクラ：「行かないで！行くなら私大声出してでも．．．」
    Sakura: Don’t go! If you leave, I’ll scream…
    SFX: フッ *sudden movement*
    サスケ：「サクラ．．．ありがとう．．．」
    Sasuke: Sakura… Thank you…
    SFX: トン！ *tap*
