So I watched BNHA, finally after a year since first season aired. I love this anime! The art style is cute, everything is colourful and also it’s action packed! That’s why everyone’s watching it…
Since I haven’t started second season, let ke express some opinions I have with my knowledge from 13 epsiodes.
Firstly, I admire Midoriya works so hard to strive for what he wants. Since he was quirkless and weak, when All Might decided to let Midoriya be his successor for “One for All”, I can see how much Midoriya struggles to get stronger. The flashbacks of him knowing he is quirkless makes me feel bad for him. I also like that Midoriya still cannot have full control of his quirk at the beginning of the series, yet he still tries to use it for good. Way to go, my boy.
Another thing would be my mixed feelings for Bakugou. Well, he gives out an overly-agressive, self-centered vibe to me, yet I can’t hate him. I know that he’ll change, even for just a little. Him bullying Midoriya and nearly killing him surely pisses me off though. But I know that he just wanted to be stronger and strive to be a great hero. I mean, everyone have this “teenage phase” where shit happens. I remember watching the anime and every single phrase I said to Bakugo is “shut the fuck up”. Good times.
If you ask who is my favourite character, I would say that it’s Denki, the pikachu boy! First, I love his design, makes him super adorable. Second, how laidback (kinda) he is normally is cool. Third, I like that he would suddenly get very cheerful and enthusiastic, like how he screamed to Jirou, “I’m strong!”. Finally, his idiotic phase always gets me giggling. What a cutie.
This anime also sparked my love for a girl: Uraraka Ochako. Honestly, she’s so adorable. She’s one of the first people who acknowledged how strong Midoriya is, well, technically, Midoriya saved her! Also, I love how kind she is to everyone, and being a great friend to Midoriya and Iida, mostly. I don’t usually fall for girls that much, but Uraraka…she makes me sooooo happy.
Moreover. I DON’T HATE MINETA! WHAT A SHOCK! Okay, but listen. Just because he’s a pervert now, doesn’t mean he wouldn’t change. Since the girls kinda repelled him, I think he would understand that he is doing/thinking something wrong. Also, it’s obvious he’s a whiny boy and a coward. However, I pretty much relate to that, cause he probably has low self-esteem for himself, like I do. Y'all sensetive people telling Mineta to die when he has 0 charactet development. Let’s see what the creator can do with him. Just, stop hating him so much! (tho i don’t really like him, i think he isn’t totally bad)
Finally, I have one thing I don’t understand. It baffles me since I ended the anime and started to invest in the fandom. How the fuck Midoriya and Uraraka is considered a rarepair? Legit, I scrolled the Tumblr tag for BNHA, and I saw NO fanart of this ship. Well, I only explored it for half an hour, but still…WHAT THE FUCK?!
I’m not telling you to ship them, but I just don’t understand how this ship ended up being a rarepair. Perhaps it’s the fujoshis? Perhaps, most see them as friends? Well, the latter sounds more reasonable and less offensive.
Well, unfortunately, I ship Midoriya with Uraraka, and not even season 2 spoilers would move my heart for this ship. Friendly reminders that:
· Uraraka eased of Midoriya’s nervousness when he entered the entrance exam.
· Midoriya calls Uraraka as “the nice person” before knowing her name.
· Uraraka asked to give some of her points in the entrance exam to Midoriya because she was saved by him.
· Uraraka is one of Midoriya’s first friends in UA. Along with Iida, of course.
· Midoriya gets nervous and blushes whenever Uraraka tries to talk to him.
· Uraraka says that “Deku” means “Do your best!”, instead of Bakugou’s definition of “useless”, which gained Midoriya confidence to face Bakugou one-on-one.
· They have mutual support for each other.
· Even when Midoriya’s in a pinch, Uraraka cam cheer him up, somehow. Like that scene in S2 where Midoriya cries puddles cause she supported him and made that “meme” face.
· Uraraka is very concerned about Midoriya’s injuries.
That’s kinda explains why I ship these two. They make such a cute couple, tbh. Also, they have so much potential for shipping fics, you know?
